Albert Bartlett – Landowner
The applicant, Macrocom (1023) Ltd is a subsidiary company of Albert Bartlett
Properties and is the landowner of the application site.
Established in 1948, Albert Bartlett is a family business based in Airdrie, which
employs over 1,100 full time staff. The company supplies own label and branded
fresh, chilled and frozen potato products to retail, wholesale, food service and
processing customers and is owned and run by the current Chairman, Ronnie
Bartlett, grandson of the original Albert Bartlett. The company operates from its
nearby premises on Stirling Road.
The business has expanded further afield but remains committed to Airdrie and
has recently invested £45m in chilled potato lines which created over 200 jobs.
Albert Bartlett also continues to diversify its business, acquiring food outlets such as
Spudulike and local heritage ice cream brand, Capocci Man.
